Who can Apply?
  • Any secondary school student aged 12 to 19 in Hong Kong with a passion for entrepreneurship is eligible.
  • School team submission: Your application has to be submitted on a school team basis; Individual submission is not accepted. Each school can submit more than 1 application.
  • Form a TEAM OF 4 and INVITE 1 TEACHER as your team’s guardian.
How to Apply?
Online Submission

Submit a PowerPoint presentation of up to 15 SLIDES in PDF format to illustrate your entrepreneurial ideas, which includes:

Select one or more than one of the following areas, identify what problems you are going to solve for schools or students, and tell us your goal

How do you solve the problem? What is your proposed solution - be it a service or a software application or a hardware or a business idea? If you already have a MVP (minimum viable product), it will be great to show us.

4 IMPLEMENTATION
How do you deploy your plan? How do you scale up and sustainably operate your solution?

Online Semi Pitch for the Top 25 Teams
On January 9, 2021, your team will pitch your idea online to our AEF panel and all the teachers involved.

Pick Your Language

  • Present your ideas online in English, Cantonese or Mandarin
  • Present your pitch deck in English

Pitching Format

  • 8-min presentation + Q&A
  • You will answer follow-up questions at least in last 3 mins

  • Knowledge of their industry (30%)
  • Relevancy to school (30%)
  • Completeness of the idea (20%)
Final Pitch for the Top 8 Teams
You will pitch online to convince our top-notch judges that your idea is the best among all.

FAQ
What is a MVP? What do I need to do for the first round?

A MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is a simplest form of your idea. i.e. If your ultimate goal is to help eliminate all the plastic waste in all the schools around the world, your MVP will most likely to be a solution that you can start in your school first.

If you are selected for Online Semi Pitch, please give us an idea of what your MVP will be.

If you are selected for Final Pitch, you are required to present your MVP in your pitch.

What kind of business ideas will be qualified for the application?

As long as your ideas are related to the five areas set out, and your plan is financially sustainable, your business ideas will be qualified for the application.

Can one teacher represent multiple teams?

Yes

Who is on the panel of judges?

Student startups will be selected and ranked by a panel of judges, including industry experts, investors and startup experts, who represent local and global startup communities.
